DIY Glycolysis

Go on to the next step.

Step Seven - Dephosphorylation of 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate Making ATP

Product 3-phosphoglycerate

Good! Now you have finally made ATP. Because there are two moles of 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate produced for each mole of glucose two moles of ATP are created in this step. The phosphates transfered are the ones that were added to carbon 1 in the previous step.

So far two ATP spent and two manufactured. Subtrate oxidised by four electrons (two electron oxidation for each molecule of substrate).
