After Step Four What Next?

The hexose is split into two halves but the two halves are different. Each half is a three carbon sugar. So how are you going to procede? There are three options.

• Develop two pathways to work on each sugar separately.
• Convert the Dihydroxyacetone phosphate into Glyceraldehyde phosphate. This way you will have two molecules of Glyceraldehyde phosphate.
• Convert the Glyceraldehyde phosphate into Dihydroxyacetone phosphate. This way you will have two molecules of Dihydroxyacetone phosphate.
